Jobs Library - Managing Job Step Visibility System-Wide

The Jobs Library is one of 3 ActiveBatch Job types.  It includes many categories, and within each category are Job Steps. The Job Steps are configured by an ActiveBatch developer, when creating this type of Job. The ActiveBatch developer can hide categories and/or individual category Job Steps that they personally know they won't be using.

An ActiveBatch Administrator can hide categories and/or Job Steps for all users. This could be used simply to declutter the view for all users, or for any other reason an organization would prefer certain Job Steps not be used. An ActiveBatch Administrator can also Hide All Evaluation Categories for all users (many categories are part of the base Jobs Library implementation, but other categories require a separate license). If a category requires a separate license, and the user is running the Scheduler with an evaluation license, the evaluation categories can be hidden all at once by selecting the Hide All Evaluation Categories for all Users. The evaluation categories will not be visible in the Jobs Library Toolbox, which is where the Job Steps are accessed.

When a category is hidden, an icon appears in the upper right-hand corner of the Toolbox, as circled in the image below.

When the icon is clicked on, a window appears beneath the icon.  User Level Hidden Activities are displayed in the top panel of the window. System Level Hidden Activities are displayed in the bottom panel, and they are the items hidden for all users by ActiveBatch Administrator.

To make the category or step visible again in the Toolbox, click on the desired item in the list, then click the Show Selected button. Only an ActiveBatch Administrator can make System Level Hidden Activities visible again in the ToolBox.
