ActiveBatch SNMP Extension
ActiveBatch supports the generation of SNMP traps. This facility can be useful for those companies that employ monitoring software capable of listening for those traps. The IANA registered MIB Enterprises value for ASCI and ActiveBatch is 19405. The file containing the description of the ActiveBatch MIB extension is ActiveBatch.mib and can be found on a Job Scheduler installation in your ActiveBatch Installation directory. If your using third-party monitoring software you may want to use this MIB file to properly map the ActiveBatch generated traps. Support of SNMP is limited to trap generation.
ActiveBatch does not support the use of SNMP as a management facility for ActiveBatch itself due to insufficient security within SNMP.ActiveBatch does support Microsoft’s System Center family of products Including Operations Manager (SCOM). You can purchase the ActiveBatch Management Pack for SCOM. Nagios and Zenoss monitoring systems are also supported through purchase of the add-ins for those products.
