Connecting using MFA

ActiveBatch supports Multi-Factor Authentication. This facility can be enabled by your ActiveBatch Administrator. When

enabled, after at least your first successful login, you’ll receive a dialog box that is similar to this:

The QR code which you may scan on your phone with an acceptable MFA app of choice (i.e. Microsoft or Google

Authenticator or any app that generates a TOTP code) – and then their account will be added to your Authenticator app,

and the app will generate unique 6-digit OTP codes on a 30 second time interval. Optionally, you can enter in the secret

key directly into the Authenticator app instead of scanning the QR code by clicking on the blue eye.

The image above illustrates a sample Authenticator app (in this case, Microsoft Authenticator) which has registered the

account (testuser1@advsyscon.com). The six (6) digit code (called OTP) will be displayed for thirty (30) seconds after

which a new code will be generated. For the initial MFA registration, the six (6) digit code is entered in the text box below

the blue eye. For subsequent connections, you will be prompted to enter the OTP code as part of your authentication.

The frequency of MFA prompts is controlled by your ActiveBatch Administrator.
