Favorites Pane
The Favorites pane allows you to quickly access your most popular objects in the Navigation Pane. Favorites are created for the individual user, and are not global in nature (like Tags are). Favorites are helpful when a frequently accessed object is nested several levels deep in the Navigation pane. Any object (Job, Plan, Queue, Service Library, Schedule, etc.) can be added to the Favorites pane. Once added, you can right click on it in the Favorites pane, then select Find Favorites in Tree. The system will select and set focus to favorite in the Navigation pane.
The Favorites pane is shared with the Navigation and Tags tabs. See the image below, where the Favorites tab is outlined in red. Only one tab can be active at any given time. In the image below, the Navigation tab is active. To change the pane's focus to Favorites, click on the Favorites tab.
If you do not see the Favorites tab (it may have been closed), click on the Collapse/Expand icon, then click on View, then Favorites.
One way to add a favorite is by right-clicking on the desired object in the Navigation pane, then selecting Advanced > Add to Favorites. After selecting this option, the system will set focus to the Favorites pane, and you will see a dialog similar to what is depicted in the image below.
The favorite Name field is auto-populated to match the name of the selected object. You can change it, if desired. Click OK to save. After creating a favorite, you will see it appear in the Favorites pane (see below).
Adding a favorite can also be done using the Favorites pane. Click on the Add button depicted in the image above. The Add To Favorites dialog will appear, as depicted in the image below. In addition to the favorite Name, you will need to select the object you are creating the favorite for. This is accomplished using the dropdown arrow to the right of Object Path field. This pulls up a selector dialog, allowing you to select the object to create the favorite for. The Scheduler name field (to the left of Object Path) will allow you to select a different Scheduler (to add the favorite to) if you have established multiple Scheduler connections using one browser session.
Next, if you select an existing favorite, you can edit it by clicking on the Edit button in the Favorite's toolbar, or by right-clicking and selecting Edit Favorite from the pop-up menu. You can edit any field as depicted in the above image. You can also select an existing favorite and remove (delete) it. Click on the Remove button or right-click on the favorite and select Remove Favorite from the pop-up menu.
You can catalog your favorites by creating folders (similar to the folders of favorites you might use with your browser). To create a favorites folder, click on the New Folder icon in the Favorite's toolbar, then enter a folder name. After creating a folder, you can drag and drop the desired favorite(s) into the folder.
You can right-click on an existing favorite (not a favorite folder) to perform context-sensitive ActiveBatch operations (the same right-click operations you would see when right-clicking on the object in the Navigation pane). For example, if the favorite is a job, you can right-click on the favorite in the Favorites pane, then select a job action from the pop-up menu (e.g. Trigger, Disable, etc.).
